Adventure holidays in India
As anyone who has visited India will tell you, it’s impossible to sum up this expansive country in just one paragraph. The best way is to immerse yourself in the spectacular country, incredible landscapes and diverse ways of life for memories that will stay with you for life. Temples, frenetic bazaars, great wildlife, intricate ceremonies, clouds of cooking spices and dusty roads – India will sweep you off your feet.
It’s a land of constant exploration. That’s why exploring India on an adventure holiday makes so much sense, you’ll see the land from the ground (or the water) up, getting to know local people and a guide taking you to see parts of the country you haven’t seen before. You’ll become part of the daily commute by cycling through the backroads of local villages.
Because it is such a diverse country, it’s easy to follow an itinerary that mixes culture, history and adventure to create a rewarding experience. See the world’s most astounding architecture, learn about some of the world’s oldest civilisations and get close to incredible wildlife, like the tiger.
As India is such a huge country it’s hard to say when is the best time to visit. The high season is between December and March, when the country is not affected by monsoon weather. Otherwise, the monsoon hits the Keralan coast at the end of May and spreads north. The monsoon normally finishes in the north by September but can persist in the south until December.
